George Bobier opened a store for the citizens of St. Ignas, Michigan. He supplied his community with necessary everyday goods and also marketed hard to find items.

His storefront allowed him the opportunity to teach his five sons and one daughter valuable life and business lessons. “Always listen to the customer,” he’d tell them. “And provide them with the very best products available from around the world.”

In 1946, George’s son, DeVere Bobier, Sr., started Bobier Tool Supply. And for the next 21 years, DeVere provided his customers with the finest tools and equipment to increase both quality and productivity.

DeVere, Sr. hosted one of the first Tool Shows in the United States when in 1953 he brought his wares for display and demonstration to a prestigious Flint, Michigan hotel. He presented seminars on such innovations as high-speed grinding, special surface treatments for cutting tools, the quick-change tool holder, and tool presetting systems.

Today, DeVere, Jr., his wife Mary, and daughter Kim carry on the family legacy of service quality and customer satisfaction.

Although the products have changed to meet the needs of today’s industries, the focus of the company has not changed. “We’re a company all about service,” explains DeVere, Jr.
